Now I Know Why Tigers Eat Their Young/How to Survive Your Teenagers-With Wisdom and a Little Humor
Published in Paperback by Prima Publishing (June, 1994)
Author: Peter, Ph.D. Marshall
Average review score:

If you have child/children, you got to have this!
I read this book in 1996 for my senior year Psychology project. I was vastly impressed by how humorous and straight to the point this book writes about handling your teenager and how you can cope with it by using humor. Till this very day, I can still remember how throughly I enjoy and learn from this book. Now that I have a child of my own, I strongly recommend this book as it helps me during the hard times, reminds me of the good times and to enjoy every minutes of it. A definitely good book for relaxing your nerve. Enjoy!

Nuclear Nativity: Rituals of Renewal and Empowerment in the Marshall Islands
Published in Hardcover by Northern Illinois Univ Pr (June, 1997)
Author: Laurence Marshall Carucci
Average review score:

Marshall Islands Rituals
In Nuclear Nativity, Carucci explores the rituals, customs, and meanings of the Kurijmoj festival. Feasts, competitive games, speeches, dances, songs of apocalypse, and gestures of extraordinary generosity are among the means by which Enewetak and Ujelang people celebrate the festival. Carucci thoroughly investigates the empowering aspects of these ritual devices. He gives special attention to the array of valu ables and intricate scenarios of exchange - including food and money, speeches and songs - and illuminates the ways that people create histories of Kurijmoj tracing the festival to its ancient or Christian sources depending on their positions or status in the community. Carucci's book will engage Pacific anthropologists, ethnographers, and scholars interested in the anthropology of religion and ritual.

Odes and Epodes of Horace
Published in Hardcover by AMS Press (June, 1974)
Authors: John Marshall and Horace
Average review score:

A translation that combines charm and accuracy.
Joseph Clancy manages in his translation of the "Odes" to accomplish a tricky task- that is, capturing the spirit of Horace's poetry, while not deviating too much from the original Latin. The same also applies to the translations of the "Epodes." In all, it is a delightful translation, which allows anyone, even those unacquainted with Latin Literature to enjoy one of the the gratest poets of Western Civilization. The wide spectrum of Horace's topic, as well as the perfection to which he brought his work cause many hardship for the modern translator. Clancy seems to overcome most of those, and produce a translation which is pleasant to read, and at the same time doesn't lose sight of the Latin originals. Highly recommended.

Off Season: A Novel of Love, Faith and Minor League Baseball
Published in Paperback by Savage Press (01 September, 2002)
Author: Marshall J. Cook
Average review score:

Great follow on to Year of the Buffalo!
Well at the outset I should admit to being a little biased here; Marsh is my little brother. But even so this is a good book. We follow the people we got to know in Year of the Buffalo for another great season of minor league play but there's a bit more this time. A couple of plot threads woven skillfully in between pitches.
Marshall has a fine ear for dialog and includes some great quotes and quips. A very enjoyable read, as they say, you won't want to put it down!

A Great Read Aloud
This is a wonderful book for a classroom read aloud. Children enjoy it and relate to it. Also, for the teacher who is tired of all the "good" books being so depressing, this is a wonderful alternative. It's light hearted and fun to read.

A great book about the landings on Utah beach
This book is a must for all those who wants to know what happened at the Cotentin peninsula in june 1944. It covers the beach landing, the airdrop and how the allies fought their way to Cherbourg.

The book has a lot of good maps and illustrations to help the reader. These include maps of which german troops the allies thought were defending the beaches and the peninsula as well as maps showing exactly what reality looked like. Complete OOBs for both Axis and Allies are included. Historically very correct book.
